The 2010 version of "True Grit" is better than the original John Wayne film for many reasons, mainly the characterizations. The film follows a girl who enlists the help of a United States marshall and a Texas Ranger to track down the man who killed her father in cold blood.

The film opens with a quote from The Bible which rings true until the very end. The acting is especially great, because the characters are so diverse and require much work from the actors, and each actor gives it their all and they deliver.

Especially Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn and Matt Damon as Labeouf. The film moves along at a standard pace, never missing a beat. The dialogue is great, and the playful hatred between Cogburn and Labeouf is great to watch.

The film's ending is a unique one, because it isn't your typical Hollywood happy ending. I won't spoil what it is here, but it is a good ending. The film is great, powered by great writing and even better acting.

It is definitely worth a watch.
