Review of True Grit (2010) by Marina N — 16 Feb 2013
A modern western about a 14-year old girl looking for the murderer of her father together with a US marshall and a Texas ranger. Steinfield is absolutely brilliant as the feisty beyong-her-age mature girl with superb negotiating skills.
Her hegotiating her terms on different occasions probably offers to most funny scenes of the film. Bridges, who might be on of my favorite actors as of the last ten years, is perfectly cast as the aging mashall with a big heart.
Overall, it's a solid effort, I was just disappointed withe ending and hoped for some greater message coming out of the whole tale. Nevertheless, good entertainment.
