The Coen Brothers' adaptation of True Grit delivers in all respects. The movie benefits mostly from strong performances from all major cast members, including an impressive debut from Haylee Steinfeld.
The movie is also supported by wonderful dialogue written in the vernacular of the time period that is humorous and witty. The setting, the cinematography, and the characterization provides motivation for the audience as we witness our heroes trek across the landscape in search of rewards and revenge.
