Review of True Grit (2010) by Peter L — 18 Jan 2014
The best thing about the Coen Brothers' take on "True Grit" is that it is astoundingly well directed. The day to night transitions and nice outdoor locations are very aesthetically pleasing.
However, I don't think this is really is my genre. I can't say for certain since I am not an avid western movie viewer. I would say the best part of it is the final act, but it feels like quite some time before you reach the best part of the film.
I would say watch it if you appreciate the book, classic movie, or westerns. Otherwise, the movie is just OK.
