An excellent remake of one of John Wayne's best films as a young girl Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld) seeks the help of the US Marshal Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) to seek down the killer of her father known as Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin).
They have problems as a Texas Ranger known as LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) wants to claim Chaney for the murder of another man. I wasnt a big fan of the original but this was brilliantly written, directed and acted with some great shootouts and even though it wasnt as crazy, quirky as the Coen's best work this still was a work of brilliance.
