(2012) Trouble With the Curve.
DRAMA/ COMEDY.
The set up is as follows, Gus(Clint Eastwood) makes a living scouting for upcoming baseball players for a particular Major League baseball team. Because theirs a lot of travelling involved and because of Gus's age, the owners think that he's not as alert as he used to be since his eye sight is depleting, and on occasion goes on sleepy relapses. So then the organisation hire another person to follow and keep an eye on Gus just in case he is unable to perform his job properly. While at the same time Gus's best friend Pete (John Goodman) manages to convince his daughter Mickey(Amy Adams) to post pone her lawyer duties and keep an eye on her dad for awhile. A new batter sensation gets announced with hype and so forth by the name of Bo, who appears to be a blowhard and other teams with scouts follow him around the league. They follow him around just so s/he can locate his weak spot if he has any. Mickey at the same time then build a rapport with another scout hired by a different team and his name is Johnny (Justin Timberlake) who used to be an actual baseball player until he was injured. Johnny and Gus's daughter are going to hook up.
If viewers were to watch this movie, might be able to spot some of Clint Eastwood's political stances regarding the elderly which sometimes acts like a mirror image of his own life. The comedy falls flat and pop singer Justin Timberlake is quite unconvincing as Amy Adams love interest, which sometimes look like seeing a veteran acting with a young second rate rookie.
2 out of 4 stars.
