Review of Trouble with the Curve (2012) by Mloy X — 21 Oct 2013
Johnny (Timberlake): I remember him saying he had a daughter in college. Yep. He would say that she was smarter than me and him put together. That's why when I met you, obviously, I thought Gus had another daughter.
Mickey (Adams): [smacks him].
Formulaic and predictable plot but the movie enough the watch. Clint Eastwood is so old and ornery, I normally don't care for his style of "acting" but for this movie he was actually good. Amy Adams was and is always brilliant, plus she had a good chemistry with Justin Timberlake who was not at all too appalling in this film, he actually delivered some of the best lines in the movie. John Goodman is always awesome, no complaints except maybe we could have used more of him! So, the acting was sound, the story was okay but you can see the twist coming a mile away. No surprises there, even from the inevitable ***SPOILER ALERT*** discovery of Rigo "Peanut Boy" Sanchez's potential. Overall, this was pretty good to watch once, but I'm not sure if it's worthy of a second look though.
