Review of Trouble with the Curve (2012) by Shawn G — 17 Jan 2013
A movie about a man who tried (and mostly failed) to raise his daughter on his own may not be the best thing for me to watch at this point in my life. I teared up several times. Is the movie that good? I don't know.
It is formulaic and predictable and wonderful. Clint Eastwood, on either side of the camera, is one of the very best in the business. Amy Adams is terrific. John Goodman is always good. Even Timberlake didn't suck.
And maybe he did okay with his daughter. Maybe I'll do okay with mine.
