Review of Trouble the Water (2008) by Carolyn G — 01 May 2009
I would agree that Kim is Amazing. Wow, this was some powerful storytelling. At times, it was tragic, uplifting, frightening, and inspiring. The stark contrast between the world of the 9th Ward and the New Orleans Tourist attractions was repugnant.
I am not saying that billions of dollars should have been spent to restore the 9th ward and those areas that were mostly destroyed... I frankly think it is foolish to try to hold back the gulf and live behind levees below sea level.
But, it is clear that we failed the people in those areas on so many levels. It is shocking and disheartening.
