Sometimes something simple works so much more better than something that tries to do too much. Simple noir story straight out of the 30s, simple jazz/blues with a touch of 80s synth, simple direction done with acting that doesn't try to do too much.
Who says you need only B&W to do a noir movie. This movie is colorful and graceful as a rainbow yet it still fits this noir story. 8 times out of 10 my movie instinct are right with what movie to pick up.
Last one I watched before this was crap, this one was bang on good.
