Review of Trouble Every Day (2001) by Ryan J — 24 Apr 2011
About how peoples inner demons of lust and violence become to much to control. 2 people worlds apart in loving relationships have darkness inside them that finally come out. one is a doctor from america mixing his honeymoon with business and another is a french woman who is kept locked inside her house throughout the day when her husband is out working as a local gp.
Definately not a film for everyone and if you venture into it be prepared to be involved in a long ride mostly going nowhere very, very slowly. it definately has good ideas but you are kept wondering for so long until you finally understand what story it is trying to tell. quite explicit in its nature of mixing sex with violence but not done in such a way that it is gross, it's too arthouse for that, it's just too boring to get a reaction out of me. it's in your face but it isn't. painful.
