Comedies come out every year, and most modern ones are bleak and forgettable. However Tropic Thunder slapped me in the face when it came out and blasted the mediocrity right out of my summer. Not only does it take a highly original and funny idea that actually works, it runs with scissors while doing it; busting up taboos and hollywood with a flash of satire, tons of swearing, and a lot of bullets and testosterone.

Tropic Thunder is a hilarious action movie that took me by surprise amid all the crap comedies that come out yearly.
