Review of TRON: Legacy (2010) by Brendan N — 27 Dec 2012
I vaguely remember the original for its racing scene but besides that I knew very little going in. Daft punk really give birth to the soundtrack and deliver a score worthy for sci fi. The film really grabbed me for the duration which is quite a feat considering I watch most films in two parts these days.
Jeff bridges is such a dynamic actor he really owns the film. It's one of those films that is hard to describe as it wears its sci fi proudly. The special effects are mind blowing and having jeff bridges as the villain in a younger special effects body is absolutely amazing.
The story is basically nothing here which doesn't help matters but at the end who really cares when a film is this much fun.
Visually amazing and fuelled with a thumping score you'll swear you were trapped in the eighties. I really wish more movies were made with this passion.
The film works so well with the original, the sequel suits the escalation angle of the storyline. This is one of my new favourite films, like the original this should grow further viewers as the fan base grows.
