Review of TRON: Legacy (2010) by Enrique R — 07 Jan 2013
I expected big things from this movie, perfectly capable of delivering if the right mind was behind the movie. It started incredible when he entered the grid, and when I seen the girls walking in perfect uniform movements I was impressed.
I thought that there was going be some epic choreography throughout the film to separate simple characters from users.(Users being more human like). But of course that failed. I also was disappointed in the way the world was projected in comparison to the original.
It simply didn't have the digital feel it should have had. I realize the original had the bluring electronic glow effect that was a bit cheap to today's standards but they could have improved on that keeping the feel intact, they did not.
The action scenes although crisp, action packed, and looked great., they fell flat. The original actions scenes or games were much more intelligently made, for instance why did they make the bikes turn curved on corners.
.stupid..the quick tight 90 degree is so much better and the strategy's were not near as good. They certainly didn't try to out do the games. The plot line is shit, the father son plot is complete cheese.
Fans deserved better, its like they started on the right foot the first 20 minutes then ran out of ideas. They could have also made it more technical, with today's overflow of geeks with techie knowledge this movie had potential to become an epic series.
Remakes and sequels are a constant disappointment now. This is no exception. Special credits to Sheen/ Zuse for his performance, that character was probably the best part.
