Review of TRON: Legacy (2010) by Aaron O — 18 May 2013
I think the reason I'm having such a hard time deciding on TRON: LEGACY is how the movie ends - literally.
The movie *should* have ended with Flynn and Cora riding into the sunrise - or at least standing at the top of a hill in the light of a sunrise, with the camera pulling back until their silhouettes blur into the brightness.
It would have infused the ending with much more promise than the simple fade to black - which really only suits the movie if there was a chance for further sequelization (and yes, I'm aware that ingredients were emplaced for a sequel - but unless Disney really loves the foreign box office, I don't see it happening).
But... overall... LEGACY was a decent movie - even if it could have been sped up 10 mins.
Oh... and for those of you Daft Punk fans? The TRON LEGACY theme is very appealing in a haunting sort of way - almost a digital renovation of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
