Review of TRON: Legacy (2010) by Matthew Z — 03 Aug 2013
You know, I missed the boat on the 82 Tron, like most people did, so when news of this reboot was announced I kind of didnt care, like most people did. I went in with low expectations and within the first 15 minutes I started to feel like I might actually be in for a half decent movie.
Firstly the Daft Punk soundtrack was simply awesome and I'm not really even a fan. It was reminiscent of every brooding, cool, 80s soundtrack (ala Tangerine Dream). Secondly, whilst the dialogue and some of the acting is on the dodgy side of things, the action and the sights resoundingly make up for it.
The digital effects to bring a young Jeff Bridges back as CLU were noticeable but very impressive. Truthfully, it was cooler and way more entertaining than I was expecting it to be. I know it has its haters, but I'm not one of them.
A lot of fun.
