Review of Tron (1982) by Melvin W — 16 Jun 2011
I think that having watched Tron Legacy, my opinion of the original has gone through somewhat of a rejuvenation. Upon an original viewing it failed to interest, feeling a little cold and lifeless. However approaching it as a "prequel" to the vibrant follow up it seemed a little more appealing.
The special effects are worth noting, simply because they would have looked revolutionary (and still seem very original) I guess the problem lies mostly with the lifeless acting (a similar issue with the remake).
Not sure how this would be viewed without the element of nostalgia, serves more as a history lesson than anything else nowadays.
