The dialogue is so terrible that it's entertaining. The plot is also convoluted and oddly structured, but it's a lot of fun if you watch it with campy lenses. I watched this recently with 2 engineers in the room (one a software engineer, no less), who got all the groan-inducing programming jokes.
It's a must-watch for anyone wanting to up their nerd-cred, though I wouldn't go as far as some people to say it was revolutionary and ahead of its time. We'll see how the sequel does...
