Review of Trolls (2016) by Eric G — 11 Aug 2017
There's no denying the horrible decrease in the quality of animated films lately regardless of the production company. Whether it's Disney, Pixar, or Dreamworks, the animation industry has been making mediocre movies targeted mostly for the eyes of children.
Pretty colors and loud songs always had a major presence in animated films but the silliness is getting out of hand. Does someone even read the script before creating the movie? Asides from the stunning visuals, as every other film is now mind-blowing, storytelling is crucial and must at least not result in secondhand embarrassment or cringing.
Trolls is extremely annoying, predictable, and frustratingly dumb. I realize animation will never live up to Disney's renaissance or even Pixar's early years, but I could at least expect something watchable.
