Review of Trolls (2016) by Jeff B — 20 Oct 2016

Enjoyable, but not exceptional. All the cliches in the book fire one after another, but my eleven-yr-old liked it, and that's what it's about, isn't it?

However, one of the drawbacks of the film is the great reliance on well-known songs. Sure, Guardians of the Galaxy set the tone and hit the mother load, but those songs really worked well with the story line and gave the movie great energy. Trolls? Not so much.

And the story line is pretty standard. Big meanies want to take all the fun and the lives away. But guess what? She of great positivity saves the day with love and hope and song.

OK, I'm a little adult jaded, but as I said, great fun for the kids. Overall, the visuals, music, even story are enjoyable for the initiate, so take one to see it today. God bless.
