Review of Troll 2 (1990) by Hannah Rose C — 30 Jun 2012

Totally disappointing.

I didn't go into this movie thinking it would be *good*, not by any means. I'm not stupid. But I expected it to be entertaining. I'm a huge fan of terrible movies and things like Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and Rifftracks.

Hence why I was extremely excited to watch what so many people call the worst movie of all time. Troll 2 might actually fit that bill, but not in a good way. Troll 2 is a let down for any viewer. It's not so-bad-it's-good, it's so-bad-it's-bad or so-bad-it's-boring. It doesn't stand up to the hype. There are a few outstanding laugh-out-loud moments but overall it's just dull.

You could do a lot better if you're looking for an awful movie to laugh at (I recommend "Teenagers from Outer Space", "Manos the Hands of Fate", "Santa Claus" (the Mexican film about Santa battling demons, not the one with Tim Allen), "The Brain that Wouldn't Die", or "The Night of the Blood Beast"). If you really want to get a feel of this movie or see the few parts worth watching go to YouTube and look up "Best of Troll 2" or "Troll 2 clips" don't waste your time with the whole thing.
