Review of Troll (1986) by Mike O — 27 Mar 2008
Yet another example of a movie that I watched several times (and loved) as a kid that I needed to re-watch in order to get a legit opinion. While it was every bit as corny as I thought it would be, it was still pretty enjoyable.
I remember Sonny Bono being in it, but what I didn't realize was that Julia Louis Dreyfus made her film debut in this as one of the secondary characters (odd, I don't remember James Lipton bringing up THIS performance in her appearance on "Inside The Actor's Studio").
Another odd thing...the fact that the dad and the son's name is Harry Potter. And only a soccer fan would notice this...but the Dad was wearing a Real Betis (a Spanish Premier League team) hat. I'm really curious as to why, of all teams, he wore THAT team's hat.
Maybe the director is a fan or something. Pretty random. And isn't the musical number in this movie priceless? Great stuff.
