Review of Triumph of the Will (1935) by J. A — 19 Oct 2007
Leni Riefenstahl employed many groundbreaking editorial and cinematic themes in this film creating what is one of the most astonishing pieces of propaganda ever. Regardless of the horror of what transpired after this, it is impossible to deny that this is quite good.
Someone else referred to it as chilling and I think that's a great way to put it, as even having watched it without subtitles, and knowing little German, the power and emotion it evokes is still tremendous, if not horrifying.
