Review of Triumph of the Will (1935) by Keith S — 30 Oct 2007
Funny to me how some of the most influential films ever made were also some of the most controversial. This is a perfect example of this, being propaganda for the Nazi Party during their rise to power.
This film changed documentary editing forever, and also sheds a horrifying light on the ideals of Germany during that time. After growing up seeing Nazis as bad guys in movies, this film felt a bit surreal.
I heard it was banned for decades after WWII, and is still banned in England.
