It's appalling to me that people can call this a good film. This film was instrumental in promoting Nazism, and continues to have that power today. There is no quality level a film might achieve that could ever make up for this fact to an extent that I could ever, as a person of conscience, give it a good rating.
The adjective "good" seems repugnant to me in this context. We have successfully wiped racist cartoons from public distribution, extremely well-made though many of them are. That's because these films' quality levels don't eclipse their offensive message -- so why is this film viewed differently by reviewers on this site? Copies of these racist cartoons can be found for purposes of study, through curated means, but are pulled out of the realm of popular entertainment.
How is this different, and why shouldn't it get exactly that treatment? Splat!
