Review of Trishna (2011) by David M — 19 Feb 2013
A quiet tragedy, from studious director Winterbottom. Set in India, it follows a passive girl from humble backgrounds, who ends up with a rich boy who falls for her. What starts as love, takes some unexpected turns, and due to cultural expectations, things don't go as planned.
From there it only gets worse for Trishna. It's well acted, and is a showcase for Pinto, who is more than a (unbelievably) pretty face.
