Review of Triple 9 (2016) by Ws W — 19 May 2016
- Don't get it twisted. This is massive extreme crime at its all time best. Urban warfare at it's finest. The world of law enforcement is truly taken to a different level of insight with the story line portrayed in Triple 9.
The "streets" absolutely come alive as the overall plot began to develop. With a concept of "999" that surrounds an officer down whether wounded or dead itself is a huge issue to deal with.
From the opening scene of the movie the action hit hard and only pounded harder as the film played on. With a combination of bank robing mixed inside carnage that dealt with "dirty cops" and a ultimate Russian beauty supreme Queen Pin, the suspense over flowed with intensity that caused every moment to poses curiosity, awe and wonderment.
The action was delivered in such a accurate manner that the violence seemed to be so real it made you think about what craziness is possibly taking place outside your very own world. "A Must See" for sure.
It is a heavy hitting film with various jaw dropping moments that are NOT at all kid friendly, but definitely worth the ride. The production did an amazing job with this one. At every drop of a bullet the adventure carried on and the edge of your seat got closer.
There were a few twists in the movie, some that were expected and some that came out of nowhere but all were executed perfectly that it fit right in with the entire completion of the multiple scenarios that were introduced continuously.
The one unique aspects that I really enjoyed was the feeling of both knowing what was going to happen and at the same time not having a clue of what the future held. It was a comfortable sense of security that implored you to relax until yet another big bang occurred which just shook you a new one, in a awkwardly good and strangely frightening demeanor.
The excitement was amazing and there were separate level of it throughout each individual set up. A very sturdy "3 Stars." The ending was good but a little confusing because it left you with a cliff hanger that may or may not indicate a second film in the making.
Overall it was a very impressive film that opened your eyes to the real world of cops and robbers and I'll tell you what, it certainly is not all bubble gum and taffy. YEAH!
