Review of Triple 9 (2016) by Tvjerry — 05 Mar 2016

A crew of dirty cops gets caught in a web of threats from the mobster that hired them (led by an almost unrecognizable Kate Winslet). This is one of those gritty, violent. hard-edged films that's more about atmosphere than content.

The strong cast (Aaron Paul, Anthony Mackie, Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Norman Reedus, Woody Harrelson) seems to be enjoying all the tough talk, but the plot does sometimes get murky and predictable.

Speaking of...this film is so dark that it's practically shot in silhouette. While nothing about this film is outstanding, it's a solid entry into the genre.
