Review of Trilogy of Terror (1975) by Art S — 04 Apr 2014
Made for TV in the 70s and it shows. I know that friends saw this way back when and it freaked them out. However, this was my first time and it probably won't haunt me for very long. Karen Black stars in a triptych of short stories written by Richard Matheson (who wrote screenplays for Corman and other assorted horror films of the weird variety).
Black's acting is actually pretty good: she plays a repressed teacher seduced by a student, a pair of twins with opposite personalities at murderous odds, and a young woman menaced by a Zuni warrior fetish doll.
The last film is the doozy and could bring nightmares to the young or impressionable. However, I couldn't suppress a few smirks at my age. Dan Curtis, the director, was the creator of the Dark Shadows TV series.
