Review of Trick 'r Treat (2007) by Djangolulu S — 03 Apr 2011
Trick 'R Treat is a fun Halloween film, and it does what it does very well. The surprisingly involving story and genuinely scary scenes make this movie one the best, and most unrecognized, horror movies of the decade.
With the remakes of Nightmare on Elm Street and the Friday the 13th saga continuing on endlessly, this movie is the oasis is the desert of terrible scary movies. The interweaving the storylines, along with strange and unexpected twists, make this movie appeal to the average moviegoer, while the "revenge" stories and scary moments that make up a great deal of the film entices the horror flick lover.
A not-to-serious, but still energizing and horrifying experience, the baby of MIchael Dougherty surpasses most expectations and emerges as the best horror movie of the year.
