Review of Trick 'r Treat (2007) by Kyle L — 28 Jun 2012
Trick r' Treat is one of the best Horror films of 2009 and it is not only the best Horror film of 2009 but it is also the best Halloween movie since John Carpenter's Halloween. This is a really fun 80's style Halloween flick and I love the concept and style of this movie.
This is an anthology film about four tales that happened on Halloween night each tale also represents rules that people needs to follow when it's Halloween night the first tale is about a principal who has a secret that he's a serial killer.
The second tale is about a group of kids who play a mean prank in the place where the school bus massacre happened and the legend of the school bus massacre comes to life. The third tale is about a young woman who is saving herself for that special someone and the final tale is about a man who hates Halloween and he gets stalked by Sam.
I seriously enjoyed this film and to be honest I love everything about Trick r' Treat. The concept and style is so 80's and the film has a really dark Halloween feel and when I watched this movie I was so amazed because it made me feel the spirit of Halloween and it really wanted me to go back again on Halloween night this October 2012.
I seriously had a fun time watching Trick r' Treat and this seriously has the same feel as John Carpenter's Halloween mixed with the Creepshow style because this is an anthology Horror film. I love this movie a lot and it is so fun to watch it and I enjoy everything about this movie from the style to the concept.
What's great about Trick r' Treat is that this movie has a lot of suspense and tension as well the whole movie is super scary from start to finish and all of the stories are really scary and I think out of all the four stories the second story is the scariest because of it's dark history about the kids who died on the bus really has a dark and scary feel and I love that story so far.
I was also fund of the first story and I think the scariest part of that story is the scene when the dead body started attacking Steven Wilkins and Steven Wilkins beats the body with the shovel and I seriously like that part so far.
What I also like about Trick r' Treat is that this film has a lot of twists and turns each story has a really unique twist and I think the third story has the best twist and I like the idea that reveals that all of the girls are werewolves and I love the idea of this movie a lot and I also like the twist in the fourth story where the driver of the school bus massacre is revealed to be Mr.
Kreeg. But what really fascinated me the most with this movie is that this film has a new character if Michael Myers is from Halloween here in Trick r' Treat Sam is the new character who has appeared in all stories and he is mainly shown in some of the stories from the first story until the last story and every time I see Sam in the stories I always wave my hand and say "Hi Sam.
" because Sam looks like a cute little boy in a Halloween costume but he's also scary during the fourth story which I like so far in the film. What I also like about this movie is that this film doesn't use any CGI and all of the effects are just visual and practical plus special effects and from the four stories the third story has some of the best practical effects ever used because the way the girls remove they're skin when they started turning into werewolves is seriously one of the most amazing effects I've ever seen and they aren't CGI at all which amazed me even more.
Now the acting is great. The performances from the casts is great I love the performances of Dylan Baker, Bryan Cox and the gorgeous and beautiful Anna Paquin. And among all of the casts Anna Paquin is seriously the best out of all the casts and I like Anna Paquin in this film because she looks beautiful and gorgeous at the same time and her role in the film is incredible and I like how she looks like when she turns into a werewolf she looks scary when her eyes changed while Brian Cox is perfect for the role of Mr.
Kreeg and I like the way he performed in the film. Director Michael Dougherty did a good job with his work on this movie since I know his work on the X Men films with Bryan Singer I love Michael's directing with this movie so far and I hope he makes a sequel to this movie.
Overall Trick r' Treat gets a 10/10 because this movie has all of the things that Horror fans need the most and I finally embrace the spirit of Halloween and I love the Halloween season a lot now.
So remember wear a costume. Don't light out any Jack O Lanterns and grab a treat because if you don't dark histories of Halloween will come to life. So since I watched this film I would like to say Happy Halloween everybody.
