Review of Trick 'r Treat (2007) by Diogo S — 08 May 2011
A fantastic horror anthology with everything linked up amazingly well. Instead of the linking story and then a short tale this film mixes all of that together. The linking story is just as important to the story as the short stories inside of them.
Every person that dies in this movie dies for a reason. It is all interlinked and fun to think back after the movie has finished about how each thing joined up. Not to give to much away but the stories involve a teacher killer, red riding hood meeting a vampire, kids pranking which goes very wrong and grumpy neighbour been terroised.
All of these stories have a lot more going for them than you intially think. It is also hugely entertaining and well acted flitting from one story to another beautifully while we follow the weird bag headed kid who ties every story together.
If you love films like tales from the crypt this is def worth a look but if you just like a really well made horror film then its totally worth checking.
