Home invasion movies such as The Strangers and Funny Games can be pretty scary and disturbing, however, put a potentially tense plot into the hands of Joel Schumacher and all tension will disappear, the wrong actors will have been cast in the lead roles and the whole film will be ridiculous.
It also makes me sad that Ben Mendlesohn who was excellent in Animal Kingdom is completely wasted here.
