From the guy who nearly killed the Batman franchise, comes an uninteresting tale of home invasion. This film has dull and bland characters, overacting, a recycled uninteresting story, and bad dialogue.

There is nothing to recommend here because nothing stands out. Joel Schumacher once again directs a bad movie that is forgettable and mediocre and he doesn't seem to have it in him anymore. The only good film I have seen of his was Phone Booth.

All the burglars seem to do most of the time here was shout and yell and the movie attempted to give us a backstory on them but it came off as completely uninteresting. Nicolas Cage was just overacting most of the time and when he did, it was laughable, but not in a good way like on Vampire's Kiss and The Wicker Man.

The main characters were one dimensional beings and when their lives were in danger, you don't end up feeling anything for them and the emotions were not there. I will give the film one star because I did think that Liana Liberato was trying and parts of Nicolas Cage's performance was solid enough.

In the end, this is about as dull and forgettable as a home invasion movie could ever get and I would rather watch Batman and Robin just because there is more to laugh at in that movie and there is no guilty pleasure elements here.
