Review of Trespass (2011) by Bridgette W — 25 Sep 2011
Since I knew Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman are in it, directed by Joel Schumacher, I had high expectations. Their chemistry is a force to reckon with, along with Liana Liberato's role as their rebellious daughter (a perfect fit).
The entire film was a fun ride, starting off with the bumpy familial relationship between Kyle (Nicolas Cage), Sarah (Nicole Kidman) and Avery (Liana Liberato), which segues into Avery's escape into crazy teenage party, a run-in with a predatory teenage d-bag, and finally the assault takes place.
The film experience was especially awesome in the second half where it took unexpected, yet palatable twists that upped the film's overall experience a few notches undoubtedly. The hostile situation was intense, and I felt the anticipation mounting as I had no idea what was going to happen next because of Kyle's unrelenting desire to stifle the assaulters' efforts, while trying to maintain the safety and security of his family in the face of danger.
I'm excited for this movie to be released in theatres; I will definitely get back in there and enjoy it with my family and friends. Needless to say, my expectations were met. I heartily recommend it.
