Review of Tremors II: Aftershocks (1996) by David B — 02 May 2012
As sequels normally go, this was never going to be better than the first (and best) original but it isn't that bad, in fact it's quite good. They've kept the awesome concept but gave it a new route, a twist as it were.
Now the Worms have turned, becoming monsters that can only see heat and can now walk. Kevin Bacon is missing badly in this but it's great to see Fred Ward back as Earl, who is more wiser...but not younger lol.
The CGI effects are a little tacky but the comedy is still here what made the first one a blast, it really does capture the humour of the first. Michael Gross is also back as Burt Gummer who once again is wonderful and more funnier than his last outing.
Sure, the sequel won't work with everyone but for me it was an acceptable sequel and really funny to watch, the humour is the films silver lining. The fact the films got new ideas is why it's a worthy sequel.
