As a hardcore Tremors fan, this is easily one of the better entries to the franchise since the original released in 1990. If you're also a movie crit like myself, you may also with this movie was a bit better polished. Tremors 4 wasn't as well received, but honestly up to par with Tremors 2. Both of those sequels had excellent pacing, fun characters, and some good gory death scenes. This entry feels a little more jumpy with it's layout of the plot, the characters are more on par with a SciFi Channel movie than a theatrical film, and I absolutely hated the over use of CGI. Mind you however, the CGI isn't terrible, and some parts are really well animated, but I really miss the practical stuff. Burt feels a little out of character, and a certain cage scene in the film really spells it out.

All in all, the director, writer, and special affects artists probably didn't see the original films to know what fans wanted, and how the creatures act. The Assblaster was way too toothy, and looked like a spiked asshole. The Graboid was really spectacular besides the fact that the tentacles detached from the mouth! That just felt so out of place, and a thing only a Tremors novice would come up with.

I want to see a sixth/reboot with Bacon, Ward, and Gross back together. Hell, maybe a huge ensemble cast from every entry in the series?
