Review of Tremors (1990) by David L — 13 Jun 2011
Pure classic horror. There's something remarkably enthralling about a totally unrealistic creature blindly tearing it's way through the underground and sucking people down from above with it's snake like tentacles that pretrude from it's mouth.
Based on a true story i'm sure. Having said that, despite it's far-fetched plot, it is somehow executed with a degree of realism (sounds mad I know). It is of course very tongue in cheek but I get the feeling that comedy wasn't the main aim of this film, and it concentrates on providing us with a brilliant action movie instead.
There's no gore or, torture porn, it just gives us relentless suspense that classic horrors such as Friday 13th and Halloween executed so well.
