Who would have imagined that there is a difference between "trekkies" and "trekkers"--"trekkers" being the supposed pretentious elitists of the fanbase. Who would have imagined someone legally changing his name to James Tyberius Kirk? Who would have imagined hiring a screen printer dressed as a Starfleet cadet? Whether you love or hate Star Trek, you'll laugh your ass off at how serious some of these fans take the TV show.
There are some hilarious moments, but at the same time some fascinating ones. Star Trek has arguably the most devoted following out of any sci-fi story. "Trekkies" celebrates and pokes fun at the pheomenon in equal parts.
I watched this with friends on a Saturday morning, and it was the best way to kick off my day.
