Review of Treeless Mountain (2009) by Tim M — 22 Dec 2009
A beautiful but heartbreaking look at the hardships of two girls having to be seperated from their mother and the life they once knew. Amazingly the entire film relies on its two young actresses and they give wonderful performances that seem so real.
It is rare to see children carry a film and do it seemingly so easy. The story is hard to watch and the issues it deals with are what makes it so but it is well worth it to understand what many people (and often children) have to endure and live through.
It makes you appreciate what you have if you did not have to go through anything like is seen here. Touching and emotionally powerful it tells an all too common tale of our modern world.
