Review of Treasure Planet (2002) by Tanner A — 29 Dec 2011
The film launches itself with such promise, with such great animation, and with a world it managed to create so vividly that we want to vicariously live in it. Then it slowly degrades... from its unexciting stock lead protagonist to its cheesy sentimentality and finally to its extremely disappointing ending (and that music...) which solidifies its position as another made-for-TV (or straight-to-VHS) film that is unexceptional and bland.
The film does have its high points, however, circumvented around its original concept.
