Review of Trash Fire (2016) by Pablo G — 21 Dec 2016
An obtuse horror film. First half, a struggling relationship. Second half, a horrific familial nightmare. The problem for me was the lack of a back story. There was so much there to build upon that was ultimately more interesting, but was left behind.
Adrian Grenier was surprisingly excellent, but I constantly found myself not taking Angela Trimbur's performance seriously (probably due to the fact I saw her first on the Real World or Road Rules or whatever the fuck it was).
That ending sucked too. Muh.
