Review of TransSiberian (2008) by Scott M — 12 Feb 2009
Excellent performances from the entire cast. Another surpremely intriguing thriller from Brad Anderson (who first showed the world how much weight Christian Bale could lose in "The Machinist"), who is slowly mastering the art of the subtle suspense thriller.
This film is very Hitchcockian in its twisty-turny plot involving Americans in a foreign country (something Hitchcock did very well). I always love an ending that leaves something open for interpretation and this film certainly does that.
The only weak point is Thomas Kretschmann, whose character is nothing more than a thug. Every other character is very fleshed out.
