Review of TransSiberian (2008) by Bill B — 13 May 2011
I wonder how often the train was moving nearby, because the camera is shaking like crazy. So, I have to be dizzy and bored? The camerawork is overly shakey and the film itself is slow, inconsistant in its character focus and is formulaic in story.
However, it is saved by mostly decent cenimatography, strong characters and solid performances. Seriously, I can't believe that Woody pulled off dropping back to his thirties. He would make the greatest high schooler in slasher movie history.
In the end, it's a slow ride to a recognizable destination, but the compelling characters, nice look and eye-candy that is Kate Mara (brunettes, am I right fellas?) make "Transsiberian" a solid and in a way generally enjoyable film.
