Review of Transporter 3 (2008) by Matthew H — 24 Jan 2010
I loved the first Transporter but thought the second lost some of its charm. Well, now Statham is back for number 3 and I'm happy to say that he's back on form. Fans of Jason Statham know what to expect, action, action and more action.
Transporter 3 sees the main character, Frank Martin, a no questions asked transporter escorting a beautiful Ukrainian girl (Natalya Rudakova) across Europe. He doesn't know whay, all is a little mysterious, all he knows is that if he strays more than 75 feet from his car, the bracelet locked onto his wrist will explode. This sets the scene for quite an inventive action movie and if you're a fan of this kind of thing, you'll have a good time. Robert Knepper makes a decent villain whilst Jeroen Krabbe is given the role of a politician under pressure from terrorists to sign an agreement and series veteran Francois Berleand is typically solid as Frank Martin's French police officer friend. It's not the best, it's not going to win awards but it's fun and that's what counts.
Recommended.
