Review of Transporter 3 (2008) by Valéria V — 13 Jan 2011
It was entertaining, but Transporter 2 was better..don't know if it was worth the $11..
So much of it felt like a watered down version of Hitman, which was so much better. I LOVE Jason Statham and originally got hooked on the Transporter series when I saw the second one. This one pales in comparison. It seemed like the time this film came out, EVERYONE wanted to have a Ukrainian/Eastern European love interest in their film: Transporter 3, Hitman, Quantum of Solace, and Max Payne. It felt very cookie-cutter, and the only ones that really flourished were Hitman and Quantum of Solace. Natalya Rudakova (who plays Statham's love interest) just seemed like a bratty copycat of Olga Kurylenko's character in Hitman. Robert Knepper even plays the villain in both films! I felt like the writers put little thought or imagination into this film, which again, is a shame because Transporter 2 was great in my opinion. And so much of this film was ridiculous. Don't believe me? Just watch the car chase involving the two big rigs. Ridiculous. And not in a good way.
