Review of Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) by Ki-Seon P — 11 Sep 2017
As the 5th installment of the Transformers Cinematic Universe, 'Transformers: The Last Knight', is a lazy-written film with a decent story. Cade Yeager, played by Mark Wahlberg, is now a fugitive and the TRF are out to track him down.
Optimus Prime, played by Peter Cullen, left Earth to find his Creators and kill them. Prime found his dying home planet, Cybertron, and his creator, Quintessa, played by Gemma Chan. Prime is now hypnotized by Quintessa to destroy Earth with the power for what's left of Cybertron.
Sir Edmund Burton, played by Anthony Hopkins, discovers the history of Transformers since World War II, and knew that Cybertron is on its way to Earth. Burton needed the help from Cade and Vivian Wembley, played by Laura Haddock, to find a staff that Vivian wields and destroy for what's coming.
'The Last Knight' is nothing new to the TFCU. It's the same thing. This film had Michael Bay struggling to finalize. Izzy, played by Isabela Moner, was unnecessary and had nothing to do with the story.
The editing was very dull where we go from this scene to this scene and ask, "How did they get there?". Cade was very annoying in this film, sorry Mark Wahlberg. The first film is still the best one, and TF3 is still the best sequel.
I don't hate this film, but it's disappointing. 5.1/10.
