Review of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) by El T — 19 Sep 2014
Revenge of the Fallen is an overlong, thinly scripted mess. The only thing that made the original bearable was some cool action. This film has plenty of explosions, but there is so much going on with Transformers and Decepticons flying through the air, and it's impossible to tell who's who.
The humor is terribly unfunny, repetitive, and sometimes even racist. The studio was attempting to make an interesting story involving magic, but it's so poorly explained and boring that I didn't care.
The movie is way too long, and could have easily been 45 minutes shorter. The plot, or lack of, really hurts the movie, with nothing interesting to carry us to the next dizzying action scene. Once again, the characters are terribly uninteresting, and the dialogue is so bad, it's laughable.
There isn't much good to be found in this bad sequel, except maybe some fun decently shot action in the middle of the film. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen gets 1/5 stars (D-).
