It's been beaten already so much so that, like PEARL HARBOR, I won't get into it but that doesn't mean I'm going to talk bad about it at all because man, oh man did this movie deserve the crap it got. First off, the writer's strike and the effect it had on the film: (Bay tried to make it the reason the film sucked--but later admitted it just sucked. Period.) the script was unfinished and it forced Bay to work with a treatment and fill in the rest himself only Bay is nothing at all like a screenwriter so what we got was just more humor and action sequences he wanted to use for the first film but instead put in here to fill the story gaps. (His words, not mine).

The first film, while not the most developed story or even the best characters at the very least had something that resembles some form of an overall theme that can attributed to said characters: A boy and first car, or two friends. The relationship between Bumblebee and Sam was central and everything that happened in the film relating to Sam made sure that he indeed had to be in the middle of the action and events. At the end of the film he doesn't just appear there cause he drove with the Autobots, he's actually active and tries to save Optimus by trying to pass of the cube. Here (and in the third one, albeit to a less extent) he has no reason to continue to fight alongside these guys and let alone show up in the action because all he does is run away look for his girlfriend try to find his parents and scream multiple Autobot manes in hopes they will come to help him. The logic is not just insulting but lazy, horribly presented and shoved in our faces as if it's to say we are not just worthy of a good story, we're just not worthy of any decent plotting period.

While the action scenes are plentiful and overblown as usual with Bay's films, there was just no real finesse to them like there was with the first. The first film;s action sequences were big and a tad overblown sure but they at least felt controlled and held in place ,whereas the action in this one only cares about one thing: being bigger and crazier and instead they come off as uninteresting good looking pieces of garbage. This film was simply a reason to quickly cash in on the transformer craze and left no desire for a continuation of this franchise should this current way of creating the films kept up. Sure the third was slightly better but TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN is not only Michael Bay's Worst, it's one of Cinema's Worst. RATING: D-.
