Review of Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) by Anders P — 23 Jun 2013
I have to admit, when Michael Bay announced Transformers 3, I was incredibly skeptical. I had a feeling that it was going to suck just like Transformers 2 did. Well, I was right. First off, lets get this out of the way, you don't see any damn Transformers fighting for over an hour! An hour of stupid comedy that isn't even funny.
If you think this movie is funny, you need to get your head checked. The acting is horendous at best, torture at worst. Michael Bay is best when he's tearing s**t up, not trying to make a film based on a franchise that has decades of story to draw from.
Shia Lebeouf is a very talented actor in my opinion, but here, he is just annoying. He does two things in this film: scream and talk really fast. The character that Rosie plays is more likeable than Megan Fox's character from the last film, which is not saying much.
The completely stupid story starts in the beginning of the cold war, a ship carrying a bunch of transformers crash lands on the moon, and the U.S beats Russia to it and while inside, the astornauts discover all the corpses inside along with Sentinel Prime, even though according to the last film all the primes were said to be killed (we saw those stupid looking ghost!) that is my main problem with this series, the last two films have been nothing but reboots from the first one, they disregard the story and the continuity makes so sense.
Anyway, as I was saying, the decepticons headed by mr meanie head Megatron, are about to unhatch this plan to bring the dead world of cybertron to Earth, and at some point, wipe out humanity. The story, well f**k it, if you can figure this crappy story out, you deserve a medal.
As for the action, well its okay, but it gets so boring like three quarters into the film, you grow to hate these characters so you don't care weather they llive or die. The new transformers, well, we don't know anything about them so who cares? The cgi on the transformers look like junk smashed together, a.
K.a not good. The only part of the movie I enjoyed is when the main characters are trapped in a falling building, that part was quite entertaining. Oh, and as for the 3D, it sucks as well. Bottom line, this film sucks, its the worst embarrassment the transformers have ever had to put up with, you will never ever get me to watch this piece of trash that we are forced to call entertainment ever again!
